TERMS & CONDITIONS
Bolter AFLW is an online fantasy sports platform where users create a team and score points based on the real life performances of players in the Australian Football League - Womens (“AFLW”). This Website (aflw.bolter.team) ("Website") is operated by Magic Sports Online Pty Ltd ABN 54 675 250 487 (“Company”).
The Company, the Promoter (if any) and the Website are not endorsed by or affiliated in any way with the AFL, the AFLW or the official AFLW Fantasy website.
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before accessing or using the Website. By registering and participating, users/entrants (“you”) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1. WHO MAY PLAY
Entry requirements
1.1. Entry to Bolter AFLW is free and open to an individual entrant. However, only certain entrants (described below) may be eligible to win and claim a prize.
1.2. Entrants under 18 years of age at the time of entry must seek their parent or guardian’s permission prior to entering the competition (including consenting on the entrant’s behalf to these terms and conditions). Any prizes that may be won by an entrant under 18 years of age will be awarded to their parent / guardian.
Eligibility to win a prize
1.3. The following entrants are welcome to enter, but are not eligible to win any prizes for their participation in Bolter AFLW:
i. entrants who are not Australian residents for the duration of the AFLW Season;
ii. directors, management and employees of the Company and the Promoter and each of their Associated Entities (“Associated Entities” has the meaning as defined in Section 50AAA of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth));
iii. entrants who are registered players or game day officials (coaches and umpires) of the AFL for the AFLW Season;
iv. employees of a company and their Associated Entities associated with the collection of official statistics for AFLW.
1.4. Bolter AFLW is offered as a free game to all entrants. All entrants and competition winners consent to the publication of their name, and state of residence (but not their full address) to be publicly displayed on the Website, TV and all other forms of media. The Company reserves the right to limit the number of entrants in Bolter AFLW at any time for any reason.
2. TERM OF COMPETITION
2.1. Bolter AFLW will be conducted during the regular 2024 AFLW home and away season ("AFLW Season. The competition period commences at 12:01AM (AEDT) on 1 August 2024 and ends at 11:59PM (AEST) on the Monday following the last match for the AFLW Season, currently estimated to be Monday 4 November 2024. The Company reserves the right to cancel the Bolter AFLW competition at any time for any reason.
3. HOW TO ENTER
Registration
3.1. To enter, entrants must complete the online registration form via aflw.bolter.team/register. If an entrant has already registered for an alternative Bolter competition, they can register for Bolter AFLW by selecting AFLW on the dropdown menu when logged in an accept the terms and conditions.
3.2. There are no fees or charges for registration and participation in Bolter AFLW.
3.3. Entrants must register under their legal actual name and state of residence and can only enter Bolter AFLW once. Under no circumstances can entrants enter two or more teams in Bolter AFLW. Any entrant who enters two or more teams in Bolter AFLW or is suspected to be operating multiple teams at any time, will be ineligible to win any prizes in respect of all their teams.
3.4. Any entrant that fails to provide all required information (or if the Company believes any such information to be false) may be disqualified from Bolter AFLW. The Company assumes no responsibility for incomplete, late or misdirected entries, or entries received through impermissible or illegitimate channels or for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind. The Company reserves the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which is not made in accordance with the terms of the Official Rules (as set out in Section 4) or who does not abide by the Website terms and conditions.
Participation
3.5. Once registered, entrants are required to:
i. select an eligible Team within the Bolter AFLW Salary Cap and team formation restrictions described in these Terms and Conditions and the Website; and
ii. play and maintain their Team in accordance with the Official Rules set out in these Terms and Conditions.
3.6. Teams are not transferable. Entrants must not transfer or sell any Team or purport to or offer to transfer or sell any Team.
3.7. Entrants who upload content containing offensive or defamatory comments or team names, as wholly determined by the Company, may be disqualified and have their entry removed at any time.
4. OFFICIAL RULES
Bolter AFLW Rounds - 2024
4.1. For the 2024 AFLW Season, Round 4, Round 5, Round 6 and Round 7 (“Double Game Rounds”) includes matches where some teams may play more than once during the round. The first matches for these teams occurs on a Tuesday or Wednesday for that round.
For the purposes of the Bolter AFLW competition, each round ("Round") is defined as all matches excluding any matches that occur on a Tuesday or Wednesday during the Double Game Rounds.
Team selection and salary cap
4.2. Each entrant initially chooses a team of 21 players (each a “Player” and an entrant’s team of 21 players for each Round is a “Team”) based on the Player Prices to a maximum of the Bolter AFLW Salary Cap. The Bolter AFLW Salary Cap (“Bolter Salary Cap”) is $1,962,700 for the AFLW Season.
4.3. Teams must be selected according to the following player position requirements:
i. 6 defenders (5 on field, 1 emergency);
ii. 6 midfielders (5 on field, 1 emergency);
iii. 2 rucks (1 on field, 1 emergency);
iv. 6 forwards (5 on field, 1 emergency);
v. 1 utility player from any position (in the remaining squad).
Teams that do not meet these requirements will be deemed ineligible and may be disqualified.
Player positions on the Website are determined by the Company and may change throughout the Season. Some Players may have two positions (dual position players). There is no guarantee the Player positions on the Website reflect that of a real life position of a player.
4.4. For each round of the Season (“Round”) an entrant must choose from their Team:
i. the 16 starting Players on the field who will contribute to an entrant’s score;
ii. four emergency Players who will not score unless they replace a starting Player who did not play at least 40% time on ground for that Round and had a lower score than the corresponding emergency Player with the same allocated position;
iii. a team Captain who will score double points for the Round. Entrants may also choose a Vice-Captain who will receive double points for the higher of the Vice-Captain and the Captain score for the Round if the selected captain does not, for any reason, play at least 40% time on ground for that Round.
Trading
4.5. Entrants can make unlimited changes to their Team made at registration up until the commencement of Round 1, and up to 3 trades to their Team each week thereafter via the Trade page of the Website.
i. Trades cannot be accumulated and there is a maximum of 3 Trades per Round, meaning if an entrant uses less than 3 Trades on any given Round, they lose any unused trades.
ii. Trades must be made prior to the Lockout restrictions of the Website for a given Player and are subject to the Bolter AFLW Salary Cap.
iii. The Company does not provide any warranties or guarantees that Bolter AFLW, and/or an entrant’s access to the Website, will be free of outages, interruptions or other similar issues which may impact an entrants ability to trade.
4.6. Player Prices can be found on the Team Builder, Trading and Player Stats pages of the Website. The Player Prices and any Player Price changes are fictitious and are determined by the Company based on a number of factors, including the player’s score, draft history, historical performances, games played and total number of points scored for a Round.
All Players who play over any given Round may be subject to price changes, solely determined by the Company. If a Player does not play in a Round for any reason, their price will not change.
Lockout
4.7. "Lockout" is a state identified on the Website when a Player cannot be traded, position swapped and/or made captain / vice-captain.
Players will be in Lockout from either the commencement of the first Saturday match in each Round or the commencement of the game in which the Actual Player plays in the Round whichever occurs first.
The time until the next Lockout for a Round is indicated by the countdown Lockout Clock on the Website. The Company’s decision in respect of varying the time of Lockout for any given Round is final.
Bolter AFLW does not allow trades, player position switches or captain/vice-captain selections to occur for a Player if a Player is in Lockout. Teams that do not meet these requirements will be deemed ineligible and may at the discretion of the Company have their Team reverted to how it was during Lockout in the prior Round, or be disqualified from Bolter AFLW.
Lockout will be lifted following the completion of the Round.
The Company does not guarantee the Lockout Clock will be correct.
Bolter AFLW Scoring System
4.8. Player points are awarded per Round as per the following table and are based on the actual real life performance of person mirroring the Player (“Actual Player”) for the Round:

If for some reason an Actual Player’s performance is updated after Lockout has been lifted, these changes will not be amended in Bolter AFLW, all Player points are final as of the end of Lockout. The Company and the Promoter accept no responsibility for any disputes, late adjustments or inconsistencies of the final statistics for a Round and cannot guarantee the statistics are free from error.
There is no guarantee that the Player scores and statistics in Bolter AFLW will match that of the official AFL website or the AFLW Fantasy football platform.
4.9. For all Rounds, an entrant’s score for a Round is equal to the total of those of the Round Scorers (provided that an emergency Player’s score will only be counted max once) (“Round Scores”)
4.10. For the Doube Game Rounds, entrants' Round Scores will exclude scores from players on teams who have played in a matches conducted on the Tuesday or Wednesday of that Round.
4.11. An entrant’s Overall Team Score is equal to the sum of the entrant’s Round Scores in the Season.
4.12. During a Round, an entrant may be able to see the running total of points of their Round Scorers and rank of their Overall Team Score compared to all entrants. These running totals and ranks are preliminary and are subject to change. There is no guarantee the running totals and ranks will be updated during a live Round.
Lockout will be lifted as soon as practicable following the last match of a given Round. Entrants Round Scores for a given Round are not deemed to be final until Lockout has been lifted for that Round. The Company may at any time amend the Round Scores of any Team if there is a manifest error for whatever reason in the calculation of the Round Scores.
5. DETERMINATION OF WINNERS
5.1. Winning entrants will be determined as follows:
i. Round Prize Winners - Following the completion of all AFLW games for a Round, the entrant who is eligible to win a prize (“Eligible Entrant”) that has achieved the highest Round Score for that Round will be declared the Round Prize Winner. If more than one Eligible Entrants scores the highest Round Score, the Eligible Entrant with the highest Overall Team Score at the end of that Round will be determined the Round Prize Winner. Where a tie cannot be resolved by the means above, the Eligible Entrant with highest Overall Team Score leading into the prior Round (and if the same using Rounds in progression immediately prior to the immediately prior Round) will be deemed the Round Prize Winner. If a Round Prize Winner still cannot be determined, the Eligible Entrant whose Team was first registered will be the Round Prize Winner.
ii. Major Prize Winner - Following completion of the AFLW Season, the Eligible entrant who has the highest Overall Team Score will be declared the Major Prize Winner. If more than one Eligible Entrants scores the highest Overall Team Score the Eligible Entrant with highest Overall Team Score leading into the Round prior to the final Round (and if the same using Rounds in progression immediately prior to the immediately prior Round) will be declared the Major Prize Winner. If a Major Prize Winner still cannot be determined, the Eligible Entrant whose Team was first registered will be the Major Prize Winner.
5.2. In the event that a prize is unclaimed by the winner within one month of notification to the winner via the details provided by the entrant at the time of registration (or otherwise as amended by the entrant), that prize will be redistributed to the next Eligible Entrant in accordance with the procedure described in 5.1 and the provisions of this clause 5,2 will apply.
5.3. The Company’s decision in respect to the winner of any prize is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. SPONSORS
6.1. The Company may promote third party content on the Website, Podcasts or Social Media channels that relate to Bolter AFLW. Entrants should read the third party’s terms and conditions prior to engaging with their products or services.
7. PRIZES
7.1. Prizes for the Bolter AFLW 2024 Season will be announced on the Prizes page of the Website (aflw.bolter.team/prizes). See the Prizes page for details and additional conditions regarding the Prizes.
7.2. Prizes are subject to change and/or cancelation at the Company’s sole discretion.
7.3. The Company and the Promoter have no responsibility to an entrant if a prize is varied for any reason.
8. TAX STATEMENT
8.1. The Company and the Promoter accept no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from winning a prize. Entrants should seek their own independent financial advice. Where the operation of this competition results in, for GST purposes, supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, entrants agree to follow the Australian Taxation Office's stated view that where the parties are at arm's length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market value.
9. EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY
9.1. To the extent permitted by law, the Company and the Promoter are not liable for any loss suffered or sustained to person or property, including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss, by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent while playing Bolter AFLW.
9.2. To the extent permitted by law, the Company and the Promoter are not liable for any loss suffered or sustained to person or property, including, but not limited to, consequential (including economic) loss, by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent due to any of the prizes won by playing Bolter AFLW.
9.3. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects, nor is intended to affect, any rights a consumer might have which are not able to be excluded under applicable Australian consumer protection laws. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability of the Company and the Promoter for breach of any such rights is limited to the supplying of the relevant goods or services again.
9.4. Botler AFLW is fantasy sports game is aimed to be communal, fun, and an escape from the burden of everyday life. However, fantasy sports can also cause angst, stress and disappointment at times. While the Promoter, the Company and each of their Associated Entities attempt to celebrate the fun component of fantasy sports, there is no guarantee that you will not experience the negative impacts and you do so at your own risk. You can remove your entry at any time via your account settings or by email us at info@magicsports.online.
10. MAGIC UP
10.1. Entrants will have the option to Magic Up via the Website. Magic Up contains information, analysis and other services and content intended to increase enjoyment of the game. You do not need Magic Up to play or win prizes, and Magic Up does not increase your chances of winning any prize.
Magic Up content is provided by Moreira’s Magic Pty Ltd (ABN 73 647 253 290) (“Moreira’s Magic”) and the information is integrated into your Bolter AFLW account. Payment for Magic Up is charged by Moreira’s Magic and not by the Company or the Promoter.
The Magic Up content can only be accessed by entrants who have made a successful payment to Moreira’s Magic at registration or via the Magic Up page.
Magic Up contains information and analysis that relate to advanced statistics and the attempted prediction of future events or performances. The Company and the Promoter do not guarantee or warrant that the information from Magic Up will be correct, accurate, reliable or fit for any particular purpose.
Magic Up is not designed to, and does not, increase your chances of winning a prize; it simply provides centralised content that may enhance an entrants experience.
10.2. Magic Up costs $9.95 (including GST) upfront and access to the service will commence at the time of payment until the end of the AFLW Season.
10.3. The Company, Promotor and/or Moreira’s Magic may provide complimentary Magic Up services their own discretion.
10.4 The Company may receive a commission from Moreira’s Magic in relation to entrants who sign up to Magic Up.
10.5. The Company and the Promoter make no representation or warranty to an entrant in relation to the services or information provided by Moreira’s Magic and any entrant using Magic Up agrees that they do so at their own risk.
10.6 The Company may offer additional promotions, services, prizes and rewards for Entrants who sign up to Magic Up. To be eligible for the additional Magic Up rewards, subscription must occur prior to the first full lockout of the AFLW Season (for the Major Prize) and prior to full lockout for the individual round (for Weekly Prizes).
11. FORCE MAJUR
11.1. All entrants acknowledge and agree that neither the Company or the Promoter are liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under these terms and conditions insofar as the performance of such obligation is prevented by an event beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to, a pandemic or epidemic, earthquake, fire, flood or any other natural disaster, labour dispute, riot, revolution, terrorism, acts of restraint of government or regulatory authorities, failure of computer equipment, ongoing internet or telecommunications outage or failure or delay of sources from which data relevant to Bolter AFLW is obtained.
11.2. If for any reason, the AFLW 2024 Season is impacted by an event which materially in the reasonable discretion of the Company alters the playing of the AFLW Season the Company may, in its reasonable discretion, pause or abandon Bolter AFLW. Any Round Prize awarded prior to Bolter AFLW being abandoned will remain valid. However, the Major Prize will not be awarded unless all matches of the AFLW 2024 Season have been completed.
11.3. If an AFLW match in a Round is postponed after the official AFLW Team announcement, all Players which are represented in the AFLW official line-up in that match will receive that Player’s average score for the Season prior to that Round. If an AFLW match is postponed prior to the official AFLW Team announcement, Players which are represented in the AFLW official line-up for the prior Round will receive a score equal to the average score for the Season.
If averages are applied due to a match being postponed, Player Prices for the Players impacted will not change from the prior Round.
If a match in a Round is postponed but is still played at least 48 hours prior to the commencement of the following Round, the Players’ Player Score in the rescheduled game will apply and averages will not be applied.
12. GENERAL CONDITIONS
12.1. The Company, its Related Entities and their directors, employees and agents are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:
i. the consequence of any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Company, that may cause the game to be disrupted or corrupted;
ii. any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by a prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of a prize, or from participation in Bolter AFLW; or
iii. any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with Bolter AFLW or Moreira's Magic.
iv. Any information or material produced by the Promoter.
12.2. The Promoter, its Related Entities and their directors, employees and agents are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:
i. the consequence of any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Promoter, that may cause the game to be disrupted or corrupted;
ii. any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by a prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of a prize, or from participation in Bolter; or
iii. any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with Bolter AFLW or the Promoter.
iv. Any information or material produced by the Company.
12.3. The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend Bolter, should virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond the control of the Company, in its sole opinion, corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper operation of the game or to disqualify any entrant who engages in offensive, illegal or objectionable conduct. The Company reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process.
The Company reserves the right in its sole discretion to amend these terms and conditions, or the operation of Bolter AFLW, at any time as a result of any unforeseen events or circumstances, or any cause beyond the control of the Company.
12.4. Entrants can only access and use Bolter AFLW for the purpose of participating in Bolter AFLW, and not for any other purpose. Without limiting the above, entrants must not:
i. use any data mining or similar data gathering tools;
ii. make copies, electronic or otherwise of any of the content available through Bolter AFLW including content provided by the Promoter (“Bolter AFLW Content”);
iii. provide or otherwise communicate any of the Bolter AFLW Content by electronic or other means to any other person;
iv. distribute or display any Bolter AFLW Content, including on any electronic network or any other platform;
v. alter or change any part of the Bolter AFLW Content; or
vi. create any derivative works based on the Bolter AFLW Content.
The Company reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify and remove any entrant who breaches any of these requirements.
12.5. The Company may collect information about entrants, including for example an entrants name and contact details which entrants provide when registering for Bolter AFLW (“Entrant Information”) in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Policy. The Company may disclose Entrant Information to its Related Entities and to the Promoter
Further information about how the Company handles personal information, how users can make a complaint about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, how the Company will deal with a complaint of that nature, how users can access or seek correction of their personal information and the Company’s contact details can be found in our Privacy Policy at aflw.bolter.team/privacy.
12.6. The Company considers Bolter AFLW to be a competition based on skill not chance.
12.7. By accessing and using the Website, users consent to their personal information being used for the purposes set in these Terms and Conditions.

13. SERVER ISSUES AND OUTAGES
13.1. As access to Bolter AFLW is provided using the internet, the Company and the Promoter do not provide any warranties or guarantees that access to Bolter AFLW, and/or Magic Up, will be free of outages, interruptions or other similar issues.
